"Go Flight" was the usual last response spoken by the Test Conductors
to the Flight Director, when being polled to confirm "flight readiness" for the
upcoming and sometimes imminent Manned Mission into the Heavens.

Today is July 4th, 2008 and I am STILL laboring to catch up. Have added a form to this page for YOUR input to the listings - Name and E-Mail will be required for verification!! I continue to labor at this Memorial, but my PPS (Post-Polio-Syndrome) weaknesses are increasing, as are my typing errors from proprioperception (hand position sense) errors :-( I reiterate - I REALLY need some help on this project, folks.. Mostly in gathering and formatting the Obits (I have a shopping BAG full of ones torn out of the Florida TODAY that I need to enter, or download the obit itself from them).. Tom

Entries* are current for most of 2000 and of 2004, so far - adding 2001-2003 and 2005-8 as time permits. This has turned out to be a massive, although wonderful project. Please bear with me while I research and format the entries! - I am running slower now because of a wrist problem and PPS, but am chugging along satisfactorily, albeit slower. :-) As I do this project, I am changing from a sad feeling at the loss of these departed Space Heroes, to a feeling of great pride and honor at having worked alongside some of these wonderful, dedicated people - war heroes, hard-hat high-metal workers, family men and women; teenagers and IOOB members; High-school grads and PHD's; purple-heart recipients and non-decorated team-members; Infants and even a Titanic survivor; US-born and immigrants, and the whole spectrum of Humanity - all functioning as one to launch our brave Astronauts, welcome them home, and mourn their losses or trials. I am searching and extracting these KSC Worker memorials by reading EVERY available obituary from 1999 through the present to update this memorial page, and become increasingly amazed and truly humbled at the cross-section of amazing people we have in this KSC area - You would be surprised who has walked among us. 5/25/07: STILL being realistic, and pushing 70, I would like to recruit a younger, enthusiastic "understudy" to be available to maintain these pages (and perhaps the MS&RP and Space Museum pages) should I be out of the area OR out of commission! :-)

It MUST be a "Labor of Love" for YOU, as well, and it does entail at least 4-6 hours or more/week (AFTER I get caught up doing the 2000-2003 pages, which is taking more like 12 - 20 hours/week + "going blind" reading old obits to find the right ones! :-) )
